October 23 Update

Repair work will occur on the Willowbrook Road water main on Wednesday October 24 to fix small leaks that resulted from the work performed a few weeks ago.

This activity will require a controlled shutdown of the Howertown South transmission main between the job site on Willowbrook and the Airport. This evolution will begin tonight at midnight.

Water service will be maintained to all customers, however, those in the following areas may experience a drop in pressure and may have minimal flow/pressure for fire protection operations:

LVIP III, Airport, Postal Road, Motel Drive, Catasauqua Road, Pennsylvania Avenue and Troxell Street areas of the northwestern part of the City and Hanover Twp – LC.

It is anticipated that the work will be completed in less than two days, after which water pressure will be restored to normal.

With this type of change to the system, there is the possibility that discolored or cloudy water may occur.

Normal procedures for handling discolored water calls will be followed as per the attached advisory.
